What is bouldering?
Bouldering is a style of climbing that does not involve a rope or harness. Usually the routes do not go as high. Bouldering offers climbers the opportunity to improve their skills and strength in a low risk and safe environment.
Return policy?
We will usually accept returns on merchandise if it is in new condition, packaging and tags have been kept, was purchased within the last two weeks, and you have a copy of your receipt.
Do I need to make an appointment for repairs?
Nope. We operate on a first come first serve basis. The sooner you bring it in the sooner we'll be able to get to it. In some special cases we may be able to schedule a repair, but it isn't something we normally do. We try to work with people's schedules as best as possible so please just give us a call and we'll do what we can.
Why isn't the bouldering gym open later?
Unfortunately we haven't seen the support necessary to justify keeping later hours. Also, since the gym is inside the store we have unique challenges related with staffing the store for just climbing. If the bouldering gym were to remain open later we would also have to have staff on hand to run the store, because if people see the door open then they will come in to browse. It's science. It just doesn't make cents to keep such late hours. YET...
Does Sled Shed sell snowmobile stuffs?
No. We don't have any throttle cables, carburetors, or belts. The Sled in Shed refers to snowboards as a snow sled... Tricky, we know. But it's a challenge we're willing to deal with because we like the name. They're both nouns, they rhyme...
Why two names???
Sled Shed and Sticks n' Stones used to be two separate stores in two different locations. They were both moved into the building at 49 E Main. They still remained divided within that building for several years. After several years it was decided to move them both into the same side so that the other side of the building could be rented out. This change occurred at the end of the year in 2008. Ever since we have operated with two names in the same store because there is a large customer base that recognizes only one name or the other. Both names have become near and dear to so many that we have decided to just continue operating with both names. Sled Shed is simply the BOARD shop and Sticks n' Stones is the BIKING and CLIMBING shop.
